Job summary

Farmer Focus in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to maintain industrial ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment on-site. This role supports safe, reliable plant operations and reports to the Head of Maintenance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of refrigeration experience, strong electrical controls knowledge, and the ability to train others. This full-time, second-shift position offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
5+ years of industrial refrigeration experience.
Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
Ability to comply with safety and PSM/RMP requirements.

Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia refrigeration equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, and pumps.
Maintain operational logs and safety records.
Lead and train junior refrigeration technicians.
Monitor equipment for heat, vibration, and other signs of malfunction.
Ensure compliance with PSM/RMP and company safety policies.
