Job summary

Shenandoah Valley Organic, LLC is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial ammonia refrigeration systems at the Liberty Plant. The role supports safe, reliable plant operations, ensuring compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and controls operate correctly.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in industrial refrigeration, strong electrical and maintenance skills, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five or more years of industrial refrigeration experience.
• Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Proven knowledge of refrigeration, high‑pressure steam boilers, HVAC, controls, and PSM/RMP fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the refrigeration cycle, equipment, controls, and electrical systems.
• Maintain ammonia refrigeration equipment including compressors, pumps, condensers, evaporators, vessels, valves, and related machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on ammonia systems and related equipment.
• Maintain operational logs accurately and timely.
• Assist in leading and training other refrigeration technicians in engineering practices.
