Job summary

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Project Engineer in Virginia Beach. The role supports field operations and ensures teams have the materials, equipment, and information to complete the scope of work.

You will report to the Director of Industrial Services and align with the Project Manager to protect ACI interests and customer goals. The position requires a Mechanical Engineering background with 1–3 years of experience, strong MS Office skills, and familiarity with 3D modeling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 1–3 years of experience (or equivalent combination).
• Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Word, Project, Excel, Outlook) and PDF editing software (Bluebeam, Adobe).
• Familiarity with 3D modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks) is a plus.
• Ability to learn company-specific software such as Procore and Viewpoint.
• Proven track record working with people, teams and projects.
• Multi-tasking ability, detail-oriented, and good problem-solving skills; follow written and oral instructions.
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures; ability to work assigned schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assists project management in submission and review of permits, proposals, contracts, schedules and change orders.
• Reviews specifications and drawings in preparation of subcontractor scopes of work and project tracking.
• Understands contract documents and helps identify scope gaps.
• Prepares and distributes project RFIs and submittals and maintains logs.
• Reviews vendor/submittals for conformance to contract documents and tracks the submittal process.
• Manages project-specific materials and equipment purchases including sourcing, vendor relations, ordering, deliveries, and invoicing.
• Assists project manager and procurement with the buyout process.
• Creates and maintains internal project schedules and tracking reports.
• Supports field in expediting schedule, field paperwork, and materials expediting.
• Assists superintendent with site safety enforcement and notifies management of issues affecting safety, quality, budget, or progress.
• Coordinates project meetings with clients, subcontractors, vendors; prepares and distributes meeting minutes.
• Compiles closeout documentation (as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties) for client turnover.
• Establishes positive communications with team members, management, vendors and clients.
• Keeps up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
