Job summary

emcity seeks a skilled professional to administer the Industrial Pretreatment Program, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will oversee CIUs, SIUs, and restaurants, issuing permits, monitoring compliance, and coordinating enforcement actions.

The role requires strong data management, report writing, and effective communication with regulators and staff, supporting growth and long-term planning for the municipality.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, biology, or related field;
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in industrial pretreatment, wastewater compliance, or environmental regulation;
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, administer, and maintain the Industrial Pretreatment Program in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Identifies, classifies, and permits industrial users including SIUs and CIUs.
• Drafts, issues, and renews discharge permits; establishes monitoring requirements.
• Coordinates sampling and compliance monitoring; interprets results and prepares reports.
• Issues notices of violation and coordinates enforcement actions; investigates illicit discharges.
