Job summary

Water Otter Job Board is seeking a compliance technician for the MCUA Industrial Pretreatment Program. The role involves conducting sampling and inspections at the Central Treatment Plant and with commercial/industrial users to ensure adherence to IPP rules and USEPA/NJDEP regulations.

The position requires a BC/BS or AA with related experience in environmental science and strong data management skills. Candidate should be comfortable working outdoors in varied conditions and with safety PPE.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry, biology, environmental or related science or engineering science with two years lab or related experience; or AA degree with four years related experience in industrial pretreatment.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents; ability to write reports and procedures; ability to present information.

Responsibilities

Conduct sampling and inspections of MCUA Central Treatment Plant and industrial users per IPP requirements.
Prepare compliance documents and review self-monitoring reports for permit compliance.
Provide guidance on IPP rules and regulations to service area users/sources.
Maintain IPP data in the database and generate periodic reports.
Comply with safety policies and operate sampling equipment properly.
