Job summary

City of Sidney is seeking an Industrial Pretreatment Coordinator to conduct field sampling for the Industrial Pretreatment Program and oversee operations of sampling equipment. The role requires analyzing samples, maintaining chain of custody, and contributing to regulatory reports.

The position also manages storm water monitoring, participates in daily rounds, and trains staff on good practices and inspection documentation across the utility division.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in the wastewater treatment profession.
• Experience with laboratory testing and analytical techniques.
• Experience in the environmental field.
• Associate’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental health and safety, or a closely related field.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and applying federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform field sampling for the IPP, including operation and maintenance of sampling equipment.
• Maintain sampling chain of custody and ensure accurate documentation.
• Participate in daily operational rounds and plant discussions to understand process impacts.
• Administer the City’s Storm Water Monitoring Program.
• Perform dry weather screening of known outfalls and archive inspection reports.
