Charleston Water System is seeking an Industrial Pretreatment Program & Laboratory Manager in Charleston, SC. The role oversees the Industrial Waste Pretreatment Program and Environmental Resources laboratory, ensuring DHEC and EPA compliance, data management, and reporting.

Responsibilities include supervision of ER laboratory personnel, budgeting for IWPP and lab requirements, and maintaining ISO 14001 documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related discipline; 16 chemistry hours.
• S.C. “A” Biological Wastewater Treatment Operator License within 2 years of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of industrial pretreatment experience; strong regulatory knowledge.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive wastewater laboratory experience; includes environmental analysis and QA/QC.

Responsabilités

• Oversee IWPP and Laboratory operations and compliance.
• Submit budgets for IWPP and Lab requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable regulations and permit reporting.
• Ensure DHEC/EPA monitoring and reporting for NPDES and IWPP.
• Manage lab certification and chemical hygiene programs.
• Develop and maintain WIM process database; supervise lab staff.
