Job summary

You will cut, thread, and hammer pipe, attach pipes to walls and fixtures, and plan layouts in accordance with specifications. Requires 4 years journeyman experience, NCCER-Ind Pipe PV, and a valid driver’s license. The role is on-site in an industrial setting with safety-conscious teams.

Qualifications

• 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
• NCCER-Ind Pipe PV certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment.
• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications.
• Attach pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes and types and related materials according to specifications.
• Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and equipment following specifications.
• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and to ensure structural integrity.
• Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
• Dip nonferrous piping materials in molten tin/lead for coating.
• Other duties as assigned.
