Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking an experienced Pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment for industrial plants. The role requires journeyman-level experience and NCCER certification, with a valid driver’s license.

Work includes reading specs, installing controls, and ensuring safety and quality on site. Responsibilities span cutting, threading, mounting pipes, planning layouts, selecting materials, and performing maintenance.

Qualifications

• 4 years of journeyman-level experience.
• NCCER certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using saws, torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes and related materials according to specifications.
• Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment.
• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids using valve keys or wrenches.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and safety.
• Operate pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
• Dip nonferrous piping in molten tin/lead coating to prevent erosion.
• Other duties as assigned.
