Job summary

Austin Industrial seeks a Pipefitter Helper to assist pipefitters and fabricators in laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems in industrial environments. This role involves handling pipe, fittings, and supports, and requires adherence to safety procedures.

Key duties include cutting, threading, mounting hangers, installing valves, and assisting with disassembly of damaged piping. Industrial experience is preferred; educational requirements are minimal.

Qualifications

• Education: no minimum education requirements.
• Experience: 6+ months experience in an Industrial setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Cuts or drills holes in walls to permit passage of pipes, using pneumatic drill.
• Selects specific type and size of pipe.
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets to hold pipe.
• Assists Pipefitter to install valves, couplings, and other fittings.
• May disassemble and remove damage or worn pipe.
• Other duties as assigned.
