Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, and processing systems. You will cut, thread, and install pipes, attach them to walls and fixtures, plan layouts, select sizes, and maintain equipment.

Required: 4 years Journeyman-level experience, NCCER certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
• NCCER certification and a Valid Driver’s License.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States; sponsorship is not provided by Austin Industries.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and to ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness.
• Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment.
