Job summary

Sherman+Reilly is seeking a dedicated painter to support finishing and painting operations in our Chattanooga manufacturing environment. You will layout, prepare surfaces, apply primer and paint, and perform light finishing using brushes and spray guns, while maintaining safety protocols including respirator use.

The role requires basic math, reading instructions, and minimal supervision, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and quality testing.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Responsibilities

• Layout, setup and alignment of painting process.
• Surface preparation and marking areas to be filled; mix hardener and filler.
• Apply primer, paint filler and protective paint on prepared surfaces.
• Operate painting tools (brushes and spray guns) for touchups and finishing.
• Inspect parts to ensure paint coverage meets finish requirements.
• Maintain tools and keep storage cabinets organized.
