The role emphasizes surface prep, quality finishes, and strict adherence to safety protocols in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, selecting coatings, operating spray equipment and material handling systems, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Must pass a pulmonary fit test to meet safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Familiarity with industrial painting techniques and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean surfaces by removing grease, dirt, and contaminants using solvents and soap/water.
• Select and mix coating liquids to match colors and specs.
• Operate spray equipment, adjust spray width and pressure for even coverage.
• Apply primers and finishing coats with a spray gun to ensure quality finish.
• Remove rust and prep surfaces using grinders or brushes as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area at all times.
• Operate overhead cranes and monorail paint hoists to position items for painting.

Job Summary:

The Spray Painter is responsible for expertly applying protective primer and finishing coats to machines, manufactured products, or designated work areas. This role ensures surfaces are properly prepared and painted to meet quality and safety standards. The Spray Painter contributes to maintaining a clean, organized workspace while adhering to company safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean surfaces by removing grease, dirt, and other contaminants using materials such as lacquer thinner, turpentine, soap, and water.
• Select and mix coating liquids to match desired colors and specifications using paddle or mechanical mixers.
• Pour coating liquids into spray containers, connect spray guns to air hoses, and adjust sprayer valves and nozzles for optimal spray width and pressure.
• Skillfully apply primers and finishing coats by directing the spray gun to ensure even coverage and quality finish.
• Remove rust from metal surfaces using grinders, wire brushes, or steel wool as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
• Operate overhead cranes and monorail paint hoists to manage and position items for painting.
