Job summary

Astec is seeking an Industrial Painter I in Chattanooga, TN to handle all aspects of painting industrial equipment. Responsibilities include surface preparation, paint mixing, spray application, booth operation, decals, and touch-ups.

You will work on-site, following safety procedures and quality standards while meeting daily production goals. A high school diploma or GED and 1+ years of painting experience are preferred, with forklift and crane experience beneficial.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of related painting experience.
• Detail oriented with ability to follow directions with little supervision.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience required.
• Ability to read a tape measure and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Accomplish daily painting production tasks efficiently.
• Operates paint spray equipment and prep surfaces for coating.
• Ensure proper labeling of materials and adherence to safety rules.
• Prepare equipment by cleaning, sanding/grinding, and surface prep.
• Inspect finished products for quality per Astec guidelines.
• Attend weekly department safety meetings.
