Wastequip is seeking an Industrial Painter for its Galt, CA plant to support production lines with airless spray finishing and protective coatings on machines and components.

The role requires experience with airless systems and painting metal surfaces in a fast-paced environment; the successful candidate will prep parts, mask areas, mix coatings, and operate spray equipment. We offer a full-time position with strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience using an Airless Paint Finishing System.
• Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery and/or manufactured products.
• Preferred experience in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean grease and dirt from product.
• Apply masking tape over parts not to be coated.
• Grind and sand containers as needed.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color.
• Pour coating liquid into spray container and connect gun to air hose.
• Turn sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray.
• Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
• Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush.
• Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested.
• Removes rust from metal with acid, wire brush, or steel wool.
