Job summary

Wastequip in Galt, CA is seeking an Industrial Painter for a full-time role with benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid vacation. The ideal candidate will operate an airless paint finishing system to spray protective coatings on machines and manufactured products in a fast-paced production environment.

The position includes responsibilities from surface prep and masking to coating application, cleanup, and rust removal, with an hourly rate of $23.74.

Qualifications

• Experience using an Airless Paint Finishing System.
• Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery and/or manufactured products.
• Experience using paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat or lacquer.

Responsibilities

• Clean grease and dirt from product.
• Apply masking tape over parts and areas not to be coated.
• Grind and sand containers as needed.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty to smooth surface.
• Select and mix coating liquid to produce desired color.
• Pour coating into spray container and connect gun to air hose.
• Turn sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray.
• Pull trigger and direct spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
• Coat areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush.
• Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Heat and spray wax onto products after testing.
• Remove rust from metal with acid, wire brush or steel wool.
