Job summary

Wastequip in Fontana, CA is seeking an Industrial Painter to prepare and spray surfaces of manufactured products and machinery with protective coatings. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.

Pay is $21.00 or $22.98 per hour based on experience, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and a clean, safe work environment. Benefits and ongoing training are provided to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery and/or manufactured products preferred.
• Experience in a fast paced production environment preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and any other instructions.
• Ability to pass all EHS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Cleans grease and dirt from product being painted.
• Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
• Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
• Utilizes grinder, sander, or wire brush over the surface to be painted if metal is rusted.
• Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose.
• Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray.
• Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
• Coats area inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush or spray can.
• Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Other duties as assigned.
