Job summary

Wastequip Fontana, CA operation is seeking an Industrial Painter to prepare and spray surfaces on manufactured products and machinery. Pay is $21.00 or $22.98 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery or manufactured products preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and any other instructions.
• Ability to pass all EHS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Cleans grease and dirt from product being painted.
• Applies masking tape over parts and areas not to be coated.
• Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
• Utilizes grinder, sander, or wire brush on surfaces to be painted if metal is rusted.
• Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose.
• Turns sprayer valves and adjusts nozzle to regulate spray width and pressure.
• Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
• Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush or spray can.
• Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Other duties as assigned.
