Job summary

Thorpe Plant Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Painter/Blaster II for construction sites in the United States. You will prepare surfaces, apply coatings, and operate blasting and painting equipment to deliver high-quality finishes.

The role requires 1–2 years of experience, a safety mindset, and the ability to work on outdoor job sites with PPE; training and leadership of junior staff are part of the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean surfaces using advanced abrasive blasting methods to remove rust, old coatings, or contaminants.
• Apply coatings, paints, primers, and finishes to metal, wood, and other surfaces, ensuring uniform coverage and high-quality finishes.
• Select and mix appropriate materials, coatings, and abrasives based on job requirements.
• Operate and maintain blasting and painting equipment in optimal condition.
• Inspect surfaces before/after coating to ensure proper preparation and finish quality.
• Review project specifications and provide input on planning to meet requirements.
• Train and mentor less experienced Painter/Blaster II staff on techniques and safety.
• Adhere to safety standards and procedures for handling hazardous materials.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards.
• Perform quality control inspections and complete required documentation.
