Job summary

FLSmidth in Winfield, WV seeks an experienced painting technician to prepare surfaces, mix coatings, and apply finishes using airless spray equipment, brushes, or rollers. You will ensure equipment readiness and maintain quality surfaces to spec.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and cross-training opportunities; 2 years' experience preferred; familiarity with coatings, mil thickness, and NACE is a plus. We offer an equal opportunity environment and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience preferred.
• Familiar with coatings, prep work, and blasting methods.
• NACE experience an advantage.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements (fire hazards, gases, chemicals).
• Computer skills for time tracking.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and plans the use of painting equipment and materials for projects.
• Mixes batches of paint and operates spray equipment, brushes or rollers.
• Ensures painting equipment is maintained and ready for operation.
• Inspects surfaces to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and adheres to safety procedures.
• May receive cross-training in other areas at company’s discretion.
