Job summary

FLSmidth is seeking a painting technician to plan and apply coatings across mining and minerals projects. You will mix paints, operate spray equipment or brushes, and ensure equipment readiness while maintaining safety standards.

The role emphasizes knowledge of coating techniques, thickness measurements, and adherence to safety regulations in a heavy industrial setting, with opportunities for cross-training and skill development.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience preferred.
• Familiar with various coatings, prep work, and blasting methods.
• Experience with multi-part epoxies preferred.
• Must know Mil thickness and finish requirements.
• NACE experience an advantage.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Must have health and safety knowledge including fire hazards and hazardous substances.
• Must pass a respiratory fit test.
• Computer skills: time tracking software usage.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and plans painting equipment and materials for projects.
• Mixes batches of paint and operates spray equipment or brushes/rollers.
• Maintains painting equipment and ensures readiness for operation.
• Inspects and maintains painting during all phases of application.
• Measures finished surfaces for conformance to specifications.
• Keeps work area clean and organized to support manufacturing.
• Adheres to safety procedures and regulations.
• Cross-training in other areas may be provided.
