Job summary

Domtar is seeking an Industrial Millwright at our Glenwood, AR facility. This full-time position requires hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting of mechanical systems, and collaboration with operators to keep mill flow smooth.

You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment replacements, with opportunities for overtime, sign-on bonuses, and competitive benefits. A strong safety mindset and sawmill/heavy industry experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years sawmill/heavy industry experience; preference to sawmill experience.
• Demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, drive alignment and conveyance.
• Proven ability to work independently, or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Accomplish tasks without direct supervision.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of electrical equipment and theory.
• Evaluate equipment operation and make repair recommendations.
• Follow all safety rules and procedures and use safety equipment.
• Move equipment and machinery with hoists or dollies.
• Perform carpentry and pipe fitting tasks as needed.
• Perform welding and cutting tasks (Gas, Arc-air, wire).
• Work at various elevations and in tight plant spaces.
• Replace motors, chains, belts and pulleys as required.
• Respond to machine breakdowns and facilitate repairs as needed.
• Use a full range of hand and power tools and apply machine tool knowledge.
• Document completed work from verbal and written instructions.
