Job summary

Liberty Steel USA is seeking a Mechanical Technician for on-site Peoria, IL. You will perform hands-on inspection, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of production machinery across the Arc Shop, Rod Mill, Wire and Drawing Mill, and related facilities.

The role emphasizes reducing downtime, supporting outages, and adhering to safety protocols while coordinating with Operations and Engineering.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in industrial mechanical maintenance or repair.
• Experience in steelmaking environments such as rolling or wire drawing is a plus.
• Ability to read technical documents and use precision tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, diagnose problems, disassemble, repair, rebuild components.
• Document repairs, parts, and follow-up needs in maintenance records.
• Coordinate with Operations, planners, electricians, and engineers for outages.
• Support preventive maintenance and plant outages as scheduled.
• Follow safety procedures and use proper PPE.
