Job summary

Liberty Steel USA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide electrical engineering support for Steelmaking equipment, power distribution, automation and control systems in Peoria, IL. This on-site role requires troubleshooting, improvements and project execution.

You will analyze downtime, coordinate with Operations, Maintenance and contractors, maintain documentation, and help ensure safety and reliability across rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial settings.
• Experience supporting steelmaking equipment and industrial automation.
• Ability to read schematics, technical specifications, and manuals.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with maintenance management systems.
• Experience with variable frequency drives, PLCs, HMIs, and power distribution.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical and control system failures and restore equipment safely.
• Develop improvements to motors, drives, PLCs, HMIs and distribution.
• Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, and docs.
• Coordinate projects, outages, and contractor work with operations.
• Analyze downtime and implement reliability improvements.
• Provide guidance to electricians and plant personnel.
