Job summary

Liberty Steel USA seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to provide reliability and mechanical engineering support across Arc Shop, Rod Mill, and Wire Mill. Improve equipment safety, availability, and service life through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and engineering projects.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 3+ years in heavy industry. On-site Peoria, IL with rotating shifts and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology is required.
• 3+ years of mechanical or maintenance experience in heavy industry.
• Ability to read and revise mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and maintain manually drafted drawings.

Responsibilities

• Direct work assignments to maintenance personnel during outages or projects.
• Coordinate contractor activities within assigned authority.
• Develop and execute improvements to motors, drives, instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, and electrical distribution systems for Steelmaking equipment.
• Perform mechanical design, calculations, evaluations, and field troubleshooting to support production and maintenance.
