Job summary

ProStaff Workforce Solutions seeks a Mechanical Technician for a manufacturing facility in Hamilton, NJ. The role maintains automated equipment, performing electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

The technician leads complex repairs, supports production, reduces downtime, and acts as a technical escalation point. This hands-on position requires strong electrical diagnostic and mechanical maintenance skills, galvanizing reliability in a regulated

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting low-voltage electrical systems (5–24VDC).
• Experience maintaining and repairing automated manufacturing equipment.
• Experience reading electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience working with electrical control panels and multimeter diagnostics.
• Familiarity with CMMS maintenance systems.
• Basic soldering experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot low-voltage electrical control systems.
• Diagnose machine control boards, power supplies, relays, sensors, fuses, and other components.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Use multimeters and other diagnostic tools to identify failures.
• Perform basic soldering and circuit board repairs.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic systems and components.
• Repair or replace bearings, belts, chains, and motors.
• Maintain conveyors, gearboxes, and automated equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Support changeovers, line startups, and troubleshooting jams.
