JOB SUMMARY:
The Industrial Mechanic Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting mechanical equipment. These systems include boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, water and fuel pumps, valves, piping, other steam and water systems, and its related operational controls. This position requires mechanical and electronic/automation skills. The Industrial Mechanic Technician will be part of an apprenticeship program where he/she is expected to learn the boiler technician skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects and assist in, troubleshooting, performs corrective and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment such as boilers, tanks, air handling units, compressors, water and fuel pumps, fans and motors.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolve technical problems related to equipment devices and controls.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently, including afterhours.
- Assist in the installation and maintaining of motor control systems for fans, pumps, compressors, etc.
- Read and modify where necessary appropriate system blueprints and schematics.
- Respond to emergency calls during and after hours.
- Maintains appropriate logs and records of systems operations.
- Performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment, tools, materials, and vehicles utilized; ensures adherence to principles and practices of safe equipment use and operation.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as needed.
- For each service performed prepare detailed documentation (Service Job Report) for the purpose of providing written support in compliance with regulations and or conveying information to clients.
- Following established safety rules, regulations, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least one (1) of experience.
- Mechanical and electronic/automation aptitude.
- Industrial mechanic technical degree.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety (OSHA 30 HRS is a plus).
- Bilingual, English and Spanish.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Eye for detail. An eye for detail is going to be an essential skill needed in carpentry.
- Good math skills. Mathematical skills are an essential area that you will need to excel in.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and control circuits.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates indoors and outdoors on many types of commercial and industrial buildings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Typically associated with this type of position including but not limited to:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk up to 8 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to use arms to reach above shoulder and below waist frequently.
- Ability to use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation frequently.
- Ability to balance, bend, climb, crawl, and squat frequently.
- Ability to be exposed to marked changes in humidity and temperature frequently.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- Job Type: Full-Time position
- Classification: Non-Exempt
- Regular work hours: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Availability for overtime, weekends and holidays.
TRAVEL:
Travel is required for this position.

· Equipment Used: Step ladder, power and hand tools, laptop computer, thermometer, multimeter, among other.

· Reports to the Service Supervisor.
