Job summary

Independent Can Company is seeking a skilled mechanic to maintain and repair production machinery across coating, printing, and auxiliary systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in industrial maintenance and a proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.

Responsibilities include ensuring production lines stay up, reading schematics, and working in tight spaces. Strong mechanical aptitude and computer literacy are essential; prior manufacturing exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Speed and sense of urgency in maintenance tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals.
• Know the difference between metric and standard measurements.
• Ability to crawl and work inside ovens or machines.
• Comfortable working in small spaces.
• Detail-oriented approach to maintenance work.
• Comfortable operating a computer and learning new technical systems.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keep production lines running smoothly and efficiently.
• Repair and maintain equipment: coating lines, print lines, motors, conveyors, ovens, incinerators, and related machinery.
• Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot problems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with speed and accuracy.
• Work safely in a manufacturing setting and follow procedures.
