Qualifications

• High school degree or 1-3 years of equivalent experience in industrial / commercial mechanics preferred.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems and safe machine operation principles including welding experience.
• Capability of lifting press parts and making mechanical repairs.
• Good math, mechanical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, reach, and lift 35-pounds.
• Understanding of corporate and plant policies/practices while keeping accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems including disassembly, cleaning, reassembly and calibration.
• Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs; test and verify functionality after repairs.
• Study blueprints and manuals to determine correct installation and operation; weld and fabricate parts as needed.
• Record parts used and repairs performed; request needed materials.
• Maintain safe work environment and follow safety procedures.
• Coordinate with management and operators to align maintenance with production schedules.
• Keep Foreman informed of issues affecting equipment and priorities.
