Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking a Mechanic to disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble pumps, turbines, and rotating equipment. You’ll follow safety protocols, document measurements and parts used, and build strong customer relationships.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of mechanical experience, proficiency with precision measuring tools, and a solid understanding of tolerances and OEM standards. Valid driver’s license, reliable, and eager to learn are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical or related experience.
• Proficient in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
• Familiar with API, ANSI, and OEM standards related to rotating equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under the Shop Manager to align the team’s daily goals.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and lead root cause analysis on equipment failures.
• Interpret technical drawings, OEM manuals, and repair specifications and document findings.

Competitive Pay:

This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $22/hr. to $38/hr., depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do

• Performs duties assigned under the direction of Shop Manager to ensure the team is aligned to the goals and objectives for the team for each day.
• Perform and oversee the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and lead root cause analysis on equipment failures.
• Interpret technical drawings, OEM manuals, and repair specifications.
• Ensure proper documentation of repair findings, measurements, tolerances, and parts used.
• Represent OTC professionally and build strong customer relationships.
• Follow safety protocols and stay current through ongoing training.
• Handle emergency service calls with speed and precision to keep operations moving.
• Be flexible and ready to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of mechanical or related experience.
• Mechanical aptitude; multi-craft experience a plus. Proficient in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
• Strong understanding of mechanical fits, tolerances, and alignment procedures.
• Familiar with API, ANSI, and OEM standards related to rotating equipment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude and organized work habits.
• Valid driver's license; able to pass drug test and background check.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods.
• Coachable and eager to learn.
