Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking a Service Manager to lead service technicians, drive process improvements, and collaborate with Sales and Operations to ensure high-quality repair services.

You will manage training programs, maintain detailed records, and coordinate with internal teams to address customer questions and provide accurate estimates. This role requires travel to job sites and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Technical degree or certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in repair/service of rotating equipment, pumps and motors.
• 5+ years of leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee training and development of service technicians, including on-the-job training and cross-training.
• Identify and implement process improvements in equipment and manufacturing processes to boost cost and quality efficiencies.
• Approve time/absence reporting, attendance, vacation planning, and overtime.
• Collaborate with management and HR on annual reviews, pay raises, attendance, rewards and discipline.

What You'll Do

• Manage the training and development of the service technicians to include but not limited to: on-the-job training, cross-training coverage, safe work habits, and good housekeeping
• Identify, develop, and implement process improvements and changes in equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes supporting cost and quality efficiencies.
• Approve time/absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, etc.
• Work closely with management and Human Resources on annual reviews, pay raises, attendance, rewards, discipline and any other personnel issues that may arise.
• Guide / lead / teach technicians to conduct thorough diagnostics to identify equipment and component issues/problems/root cause/proposed fixes and repair/recondition work scopes
• Ensure the maintenance of detailed records of work performed, parts used, and other relevant information. Utilize OTC documentation and communication tools and process.
• Responsible for working with Sales and Operations, at all levels. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to explain repair processes, provide estimates, and address any questions or concerns
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.
• Travel to job sites with potential overnight stay depending on customer and project needs.

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or GED required. Technical degree or certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in repair/service of rotating equipment, pumps and motors
• 5+ years of leadership experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs
• Prolonged standing and working in a shop environment
• Exposure to noise, grease, and industrial conditions
• Ability to travel out of state with overnight stay.
• Valid drivers license.
