Job summary

SURGE Staffing is seeking a dependable Maintenance Welding Technician to perform welding, equipment repair, fabrication, and routine maintenance in an industrial setting. The role emphasizes hands-on work, attention to detail, and safety compliance.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment, read blueprints, and work with MIG, TIG, stick welding, plasma cutting, and oxy-acetylene tools to support maintenance and production needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of welding and fabrication experience, preferably in an industrial maintenance environment.
• High school diploma with industrial or vocational coursework.
• Technical school training or equivalent hands-on welding/fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with MIG and TIG welding; stainless steel and aluminum preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding repairs on industrial equipment to restore safe and reliable operation.
• Fabricate components, tooling, fixtures, and equipment for maintenance and production needs.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Perform MIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel.
• Operate TIG, AC/DC stick welders, plasma cutters, and oxy-acetylene equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and determine appropriate repair methods.
• Select proper materials and welding processes for each project.
• Evaluate equipment and job-site conditions to ensure welding can be performed safely.
• Support the design and development of new tooling and equipment improvements.
• Assist team members with equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Follow OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Travel to customer or field locations as needed for maintenance and repair work.
• Work extended hours, weekends, or holidays when business needs require.
• Perform additional maintenance, welding, and fabrication duties as assigned.
