Job summary

Midsouth Talent Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for welding and industrial equipment. You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and fabricate to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance in a metal fabrication environment.

The role combines general industrial maintenance with hands-on welding, metal fabrication, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting. Experience in MIG/TIG/STICK welding and reading blueprints is required.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical school certificate or associate degree in industrial maintenance or welding technology preferred.
Experience: 2–5 years in industrial manufacturing, fabrication, or welding shop.
Certifications: LOTO and arc-flash safety training required; AWS or millwright/electrician certs a plus.
Technical skills: Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick and Flux-Core welding; read blueprints, schematics, and WPS; basic electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Equipment maintenance and repair: preventive and corrective maintenance on welding power sources, plasma cutters, positioners, cranes, and shop machinery.
Welding and fabrication: fabricate, repair, and modify structural supports and fixtures using various welding processes.
Troubleshooting: diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical failures; replace worn components.
Safety and compliance: follow LOTO, arc-flash guidelines, PPE; maintain a clean, safe shop floor.
Documentation and inventory: log tasks in CMMS and monitor spare parts and consumables.
