Job summary

Johnson Controls in Glendale, Kentucky is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Service Technician. The role combines hands-on maintenance with monitoring of plant utility systems to keep production running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least three years in industrial maintenance or utilities, with experience reading P&IDs and working with boilers, chillers, HVAC, and related equipment. This position requires flexibility for varying shifts and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or utility operations.
Experience with boilers, chillers, HVAC, and related utility systems.
Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
Able to work outdoors and around hazardous materials.
Willing to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Must pass background check and possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on process equipment including pumps, valves, tanks, piping, and rotating machinery.
Plan materials and lay out service, repair, and preventive maintenance work.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and process lines.
Maintain CMMS records and follow safety and environmental protocols.
Provide direction to junior O&M specialists.
Monitor and operate plant utility systems including boilers, chillers, HVAC, and scrubbers.
Log readings, respond to alarms, and assist with startup/shutdown and emergencies.
