Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Maintenance & Utility Operator in Kentucky for a hybrid role that blends hands-on maintenance with monitoring of critical utility systems.

The position requires troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, and operation of boilers, chillers, HVAC, and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in industrial maintenance or utilities, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to read P&IDs and schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or utility operations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with continuous process operations.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with boilers, chillers, HVAC, and other utility systems.
• Must pass background check and be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, tanks, piping, and rotating machinery.
• Monitor and operate plant utility systems including boilers, chillers, HVAC, and scrubbers.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; support new equipment installation.
• Maintain CMMS records and ensure safety and environmental protocols are followed.
• Provide direction and training to less experienced O&M Specialists.
