Job summary

Idaho Forest Group is seeking a Training Specialist to develop, deliver, and manage technical training for its maintenance personnel at sawmill facilities. The role ensures teams have the knowledge to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in industrial maintenance, strong program development skills, and hands-on instruction ability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman Millwright Certification or equivalent maintenance background.
• 5+ years maintenance experience in manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and safety principles.
• Ability to train on all shifts; including day, swing, and weekends.
• Strong organizational, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook; familiar with manufacturing machinery and safety protocols.
• Leadership and communication skills; ability to guide a diverse team.
• Willingness to pass drug/alcohol tests and background checks; valid driver’s license for travel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement training for all maintenance personnel.
• Develop and implement a division-approved Maintenance Training Program.
• Train personnel on maintenance evaluation and root-cause analysis.
• Assist in maintenance evaluations at division facilities as needed.
• Support OSHA compliance within the Training Program.
• Identify safety issues and roll out corresponding training updates with Safety Specialist.
• Maintain training management platform content, records, and reporting.
• Schedule vendor-provided training for timely delivery and compliance.
• Support school and shop training programs as a subject-matter resource.
• Other duties as needed.
