Job summary

Idahoan Foods in Idaho Falls is seeking a Maintenance Lead to direct daily maintenance operations in a food production facility. You will cover for the Maintenance Supervisor when needed, coordinate work with planners, and ensure safety and CMMS use.

You will lead maintenance teams, mentor technicians, implement best practices, read PIDs/ drawings, and ensure GMP and food safety compliance. Requires trade school or 5 years in maintenance, forklift/CPR certs, and a commitment to ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Two years of trade school or five years of maintenance experience.
• Ability to use and inspect necessary mechanical tools.
• Read PIDs, PFDs, drawings, equipment schematics or follow verbal instructions.
• Forklift certification.
• CPR & First Aid certification.
• Willingness to pursue professional development every two years.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance area in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Coordinate work with departments, contractors, and vendors; prioritize production needs.
• Diagnose equipment failures and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
• Apply GMPs and safety standards within a food plant.
• Mentor and train maintenance technicians; coordinate training activities.
• Lead teams; promote skill development and best-practice standards.
• Read and locate SOPs/drawings; size equipment components as needed.
• Respond to on‑call plant needs and address emergency downtime.
