Job summary

Industrial Tube & Steel Corp. in Kent, OH seeks a Maintenance Technician for the 1st shift to maintain and repair industrial machinery and facility systems.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment to minimize downtime and support efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, strong PLC skills, and the ability to read manuals and schematics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance in manufacturing or similar.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and diagnosing equipment failures.
• Basic computer proficiency for maintenance documentation and tracking.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Maintain and repair industrial equipment, including saws, conveyors, forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, compressors, pumps, and motors.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.
• Perform light electrical repairs and troubleshoot industrial control systems.
• Complete minor facility maintenance, including basic plumbing, lighting, and general building repairs.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules using computerized maintenance tracking systems.
• Monitor maintenance supplies, replacement parts, and inventory needs.
• Organize and prioritize maintenance activities while collaborating with warehouse personnel to support daily operations.
• Follow established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), OSHA requirements, and company safety standards.
