Job summary

American Axle & Mfg., Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Oxford Forge to keep manufacturing equipment running smoothly. The role covers preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and collaboration with production teams to improve reliability.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical (up to 480V), pneumatic and hydraulic systems, read blueprints, and use welding skills as needed. A high school diploma and 2–5 years industrial maintenance experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations relevant to industrial maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in heat/noise.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on presses, furnaces, and ancillary equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical (PLC experience a plus), pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
• Install, adjust, and calibrate new machinery and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including lockout/tagout procedures.
• Collaborate with production teams to understand equipment performance and maintenance needs.
• Assist in the training of junior maintenance staff when required.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and efficiency.
