Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure is seeking a skilled maintenance mechanic to support an industrial steel fabrication and manufacturing environment. You will ensure equipment safety and reliability by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and coordinating with vendors and production teams to minimize downtime.

The role requires reading electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and PLC drawings, plus hands-on expertise in automation, welding and fabrication.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in industrial maintenance or electrical/electronics with 5 years related experience.
• Experience maintaining welding and metal fabrication equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc flash safety, and other safety measures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery/equipment for optimal performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with automation, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Repair or replace defective parts using knowledge of automation, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic principles.
• Install, configure, and calibrate automation systems (PLCs, sensors, actuators, etc.).
• Inspect and test machinery to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production and management to address maintenance issues promptly.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and PMs.
• Stay updated with advancements in automation and related fields.
• Participate in continuous improvement to enhance reliability and performance.
• Coordinate work plans with Shop Foremen and Management.
