Job summary

Michaels is seeking a maintenance technician to install, maintain, and repair facility and automation equipment in the Distribution Center. The role requires welding skills (MIG/STICK), operation of yard trucks and forklifts, and ability to interpret drawings.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical systems, keep CMMS updated, and coordinate with Facilities/Operations to minimize downtime. Ability to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic computer proficiency to input work performed, identify work assignments, and use MS Outlook.
• Ability to MIG and Stick Weld and use tools effectively and safely
• Ability to operate all powered equipment in the facility to include yard trucks, forklifts, and maintenance vehicles
• 1+ years of related experience in a similar role
• Experience in basic diagnostic and troubleshooting as well as repairs on mechanical equipment
• Accurately interpret drawings, blueprints and technical manuals in paper or electronic format

Responsibilities

• Maintain, install, and repair facility equipment and automation in the DC.
• Perform preventive maintenance/repairs on powered industrial equipment and conveyor systems.
• Repair building systems such as air compressors, HVAC, plumbing/electrical; welding as needed.
• Communicate with Facilities Manager and Operations regarding repair status and impact on operations.
• Maintain CMMS, work orders, and inventory.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
