Job summary

Amrize is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Seattle, WA. This full-time, hourly role focuses on safe inspection, repair, installation, and preventive/corrective maintenance of plant equipment to ensure reliable operations.

You will work with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, perform welding, read drawings, and collaborate with multiple teams to schedule and complete work safely. A strong safety mindset is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or millwright work (cement, aggregates, mining, or heavy manufacturing environment preferred).
• Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
• Skilled in welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, and mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize maintenance activities independently or within a team.
• Support and comply with all safety policies including LOTO, Working at Heights (WAH), and confined space procedures.
• Ability to work safely around heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment (conveyors, pumps, crushers, dryers, separators, gearboxes, rotary equipment).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Fabricate, weld, cut, and assemble mechanical components or replacement parts.
• Install, align, and move mechanical equipment according to specifications and drawings.
• Operate forklifts, man lifts, and service trucks safely as required.
• Document maintenance activities accurately and communicate findings to plant management.
• Collaborate with production, electrical, and operations teams to schedule and complete work efficiently.
• Participate in safety meetings, training and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with plant clean-up and other support activities keeping operations safe and efficient.
• Promote a culture of safety and adhere to health, safety and environmental policies.
