Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, is seeking a maintenance technician to ensure proper mechanical functioning of plant equipment and troubleshoot electrical/electronic malfunctions. Responsibilities include repairing electrical and mechanical components, reading blueprints, and calibrating equipment in a production setting.

The role requires reading schematics, knowledge of three-phase systems, and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs in a factory environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or completion of technical school.
• At least 2 years of industrial experience in electrical or mechanical support.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, especially electrical/mechanical operations.
• Able to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Familiar with three-phase 480-volt equipment.
• Working knowledge of three-phase motors, programmable controls, circuits, computer interfaces and NEC.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
• Climbing, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping and twisting required.
• Ability to use tools to perform maintenance in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all existing electrical and mechanical equipment in the production area.
• Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
• Operate mechanical tasks as directed by supervisor.
• Prepare maintenance reports for management as directed.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematic drawings.
• Diagnose and test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other facility personnel.
• Replace or repair faulty electrical and mechanical components of machines.
• Calibrate and adjust all electrical and mechanical equipment per manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain stock of tools and electrical parts for routine work.
• Weld and fabricate as required.
