Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Maintenance Technician I to support a leading manufacturer of nutrition products in Aurora, IL. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, perform routine maintenance, and mentor operators. This is a full-time onsite position with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of filling and packaging equipment maintenance experience.
• 5+ years of electromechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Experience troubleshooting 24VDC through 480VAC systems.
• Strong experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures and industrial safety practices.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must provide own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Quickly diagnose equipment failures and restore production to minimize downtime.
• Repair and maintain fillers, cappers, labelers, and bottle rinsers.
• Blenders and processing equipment.
• Check weighers and scales, case erectors and sealers.
• Palletizers and stretch wrappers.
• AC/DC motors and drives.
• Use electrical testing equipment (voltmeters, ammeters, ohm meters, Meggers).
• Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
• Complete preventive maintenance schedules and work orders through CMMS.
• Partner with production teams to drive equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity.
• Conduct equipment inspections and identify maintenance opportunities before breakdowns.
• Assist in training and mentoring operators and maintenance team members.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving the equipment that keeps production moving efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of filling and packaging equipment maintenance experience

• 5+ years of electromechanical troubleshooting experience

• Proven experience troubleshooting 24VDC through 480VAC systems

• Strong experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

• Expertise troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment

• Experience with motors, drives, and power distribution systems

• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings

• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures and industrial safety practices

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Must provide own hand tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Food and beverage manufacturing experience

• Fabrication and welding experience

• Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting

• Experience using SAP or other CMMS systems

• GMP and HACCP experience

• Electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic technical training

• Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) experience

• Bilingual English/Spanish

Pay Details: $38.00 per hour
