Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Recycling in South Plainfield, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery at our recycling facility. The role requires experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, cutting with a torch, and arc welding, with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will install and align new equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and keep accurate logs. Flexibility to work various shifts including overtime and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to cut with a torch and weld with an arc welder.
• Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery.
• Install and align new equipment.
• Perform periodic maintenance routines including lubrication for reliability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs including labor hours and PM findings.
• Work with operations to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
• Help meet production and quality goals while reducing waste.
• Follow plant safety guidelines and participate in the safety program.
• Work in hot, humid, cold and noisy environments.
