West Fraser’s McDavid, Florida location has an opportunity for a Millwright - Level 1.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright will play a key role in our continuous improvement efforts through troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. You will be responsible for working safely with all machinery within the mill.

What you will do:

• Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, and perform maintenance on machinery.
• Undertake preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including conveying systems, debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers.
• Perform welding and operate oxy-acetylene torches.
• Maintain and operate tools such as grinders, hydpresses, drill presses, and air tools.
• Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.

What you need to be successful:

• Motivated self-starter capable of working safely under pressure.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years verifiable work experience as a Millwright.
• Welding experience (GMAW and SMAW).
• Experience with cutting torches (Oxygen/Acetylene).
• Ability to maintain and operate basic tools.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and instructions.
• Basic understanding of pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers.
• Willing to work weekends.
• Employer will conduct skills assessment, background check, reference check, drug screen, and physical.
