Job summary

BlueScope North America is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and building systems at our Jackson, TN facility. The role involves preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and supporting automation and die maintenance activities.

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach are essential. Candidates should have a High School diploma (or equivalent), ACT WorkKeys certification, and relevant maintenance experience or

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6 months of experience in industrial maintenance, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
• ACT WorkKeys assessment at certified job profile skill level is required.
• Preferred: 5+ years in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, machinist or related fields.
• Experience with PLCs and robotics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on drives, motors, belts, fluids and filters.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.
• Repair machines, equipment or building systems with precision tools and testing devices.
• Install and repair electrical components, transformers and wiring of machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair automated machinery, robots, and programmable controllers.
• Operate machine tools (lathe, grinder, drill, milling) and welding equipment as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement and housekeeping (5-S).
• Support die maintenance and troubleshooting of roll forming equipment.

Education
