Job summary

UniFirst Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Tech I to join our team in Amarillo, TX. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components, ensuring safe operation and adherence to maintenance procedures.

We offer on-the-job training, a Monday–Friday work week with occasional night and weekend overtime, and opportunities for growth within a rapidly expanding company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record required.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience repairing industrial processing equipment.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment test.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to read maintenance literature in English.
• Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
• Lockout / Tagout experience required.
• Overtime work may be needed.
• Lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools and precision measurement devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precise instruments.
• Test boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment systems and adjust chemicals as needed.
• Perform daily/weekly safety checks and repairs on boilers.
• Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Conduct daily/weekly location/system safety checks and address concerns.
• Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings and gears.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
