Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our 2nd shift in Winston-Salem, NC to perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment and plant systems. The role requires hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting with emphasis on motors, drives, relays and PLC-controlled equipment.

You will calibrate pneumatic and hydraulic systems, read electrical/mechanical drawings, and document maintenance activities.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Military training and/or Technical School preferred.
2-3 years of Electro-Mechanical Automation System Installation & Troubleshooting Experience.
Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, and PLCs.
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings; good communication skills; able to work independently and overtime.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair on electrical and mechanical systems in production equipment and plant systems.
Repair electrical equipment/systems and control circuits; troubleshoot PLCs and Three Phase Motors as needed.
Calibrate and repair pneumatic/hydraulic systems; maintain records of maintenance procedures.
Work flexible shifts/overtime as required; operate related computer monitoring systems.
