Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a General Maintenance technician for 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 8am-4:00pm) in Forest, Mississippi. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and providing technical support for machine systems with emphasis on safety and PPE.

Pay is $24.25 per hour, and boot reimbursement is provided after probation. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, servicing forklifts and ammonia refrigeration systems, responding to service calls, and ensuring product quality and

Qualifications

Must have 1 year maintenance experience within the past 2 years.
Must be 18+ with a current valid state driver’s license; no DUI/DWI within 12 months.

Responsibilities

Complete preventative maintenance tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
Maintain and service forklift and power industrial trucks including battery changes using all required PPE.
Maintain and service shag trucks.
Maintain and service ammonia refrigeration systems using all required PPE.
Answer service calls from the operations team in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively to leadership when difficulties or discrepancies arise.
Ensure safety processes are followed and complete Annual Food Defense Training.
Operate PIT including forklifts and shag trucks.
